Sure wish I'd seen that pic before I built the dio. Now I need to consider redoing it.

This makes me feel all sorts of guilty for not going looking when I first sort of half remembered the Unions use of hydrogen balloons.
Even so I think you ought to consider it. The scene is well worth recording as accurately as possible.

I was informed yesterday, by an esteemed colleage on this site, Maurice, that I had the barge wrong. As he had documentation, I must, regretfuly, admit to incomlete research and consider redoing the diorama. If I do, I will consider... 1/500 instead of 1/250.

Hokay, Researched, redesigned, rebuilt model of the first vessel designed as an aircraft carrier, the USS George Washington Parke Custis and her prime mover, the USS Coeur De Lion. (I now know more than I ever wanted to know about Civil War air activity)

Enjoy,
Lep

Oh!!! That is awesome! Excellent job.

What did you make your water out of? It's so thin.

The water is a specialty paper from a hobby shop.
