Looks like it will be a fine diorama. Looks like a Corsair from VF-84 aboard USS Bunker Hill (CV-17) in 1945.

Some of the others who know more about the details of US Navy markings, uniforms, and equipment than I will probabkly weigh in, but my only comment is that most of the images I have seen of VF-84 Corsairs had the aircraft number painted on the side of the fuselage under the cockpit forward of the national insignia. See, for example these images at Wings Palette: WINGS PALETTE - Chance Vought F4U Corsair - USA and http://wp.scn.ru/en/ww2/f/571/3/8

One of my family's best friends was stationed on the Bunker Hill when the "abandon ship" order was given during WWII, when I appeared it might sink.
I build an endless line of Corsair models for him over the years.
He's now passed, God rest his soul. Good man.

wow thanks for the notice Mr.Boose, I miss that spot.I used plamo kit as refrence from 1/48 Vought F4U-1D Corsair w/"Moto-Tug" the number is 69 and I already put on the tire canopy (under wingspan) but I forgot to put in the fuselage. But anyway thanks for the info.

Looks great Tekzo!

My only comment would be that the national insignia (the proportions of which you've captured quite well) appears only on the upper left and lower right wing, not on both upper wing positions as you have it.

ups I miss that one too, so if I'm not mistake the left for the national insignia and the others for squadron sign?
thanks for the info,
