HMV Hamburger Hafen Diorama 1:250

Hi all!

After the Norderney and the small modifications of the Dahenfeld city hall, I begin a new project: the Hamburg Harbor Diorama in 1:250 from HMV.

The model is very varied and I expect an interesting construction.

The kit includes:
- the combi-freighter Schwan,
- a launch,
- two barges,
- a post boat,
- a piece of the harbor building,
- a railway with the steam locomotive and 7 wagons,
- two cranes,
- a truck,
- a horse with cart,
- a lot of cargo items,
- an A4 base plate,
- figures and seagulls (!)

The model has 1627 parts and is printed on 12 A4 sheets; I've also bought the lasercut parts. The LC set do not include the windows of the building, but the new HMV Kaispeicher harbor model features the same windows, so I got also the corresponding LC set. This will save a lot of cutting work

Cheers,
Tommaso

I'm sure you will hit this with all your talent you have shown in the past. One question: a 1/250 horse and cart? That must be very fiddly. And seagulls? I shudder to think about that. One small slip of the knife and the poor birds would either be wingless or headless. I'm sure you will handle it well.

This will keep you busy for a while, Tommaso. I love harbor scenes, especially those of the first half of the 20th century, and look foward to seeing you put this scene together.

Hello!!

After a quick trip abroad, I have begun the model. Since I still don't have a proper base for the diorama, I started from the small boats.

The first one is a simple barge: here you can see the construction stages.

The second is the post boat "Benjamin". This is slightly more complicated and uses a few lasercut parts.

Cheers,
Tommaso

Hi Roman,
the lasercut parts are sold separately, and I also bought an additional LC set from another harbor diorama for the windows.

Tommaso
