Question on barbed wire...

I just finished a great little (1:72 scale) WW1 German tank and I want to do a little set up with it, but what would work well for barbed wire? Any good ideas? Thanks,
CT.

Bruce at Avantcard has some nice laser cut card products including razor wire. Or you could just make your own.

Hi CT,

In 1/72 scale if you can locate some scraps of nylon type window screen, a window shop or Home Depot is a good bet, just cut single lines of it apart and twist it up into coils. The nylon holds paint pretty well if you give it a wash in some dish wash liquid and warm water. Looking forward to seeing your finished project.

What I used to do for dioramas when I was into plastic armor scenes was:
Unbraid a length of picture hanging wire,
Twist a small loop into one strand every quarter inch or so,
Twist the "looped" (or is it loopy? - it's tedious in any case) strand loosely with another strand,
Cut the loops to short projections with a diagonal cutter.
Voilla, barbed wire in a pretty small scale.

Take care not to impale your thumb and fingers more than, say, 40 or 50 times per foot of barbed wire

There's also some photo-ecth barbed wire I've seen over the years. Check Verlinden, possibly available from Squadron.
