Escape from Area 51
This was the first 6 inch action figure display that I made. Its not totally built with card stock. I reworked graphics I found on the web for the wall and floor. The door was altered in Photoshop to make a square door. The back wall and floor are recycled gator foam from discarded signs. The door frame is recycled scrap foam core. The atomic batteries are card stock models. It was created over 10 years ago and has held up pretty well.
I tried to post the photos but I guess Flickr photos won't work. Heres a link to the photos. https://www.flickr.com/photos/george...posted-public/ Last edited by clif52; 04-05-2016 at 10:42 PM. Reason: Tried to fix the photos but I guess Flickr.com photos won't work. |

Thanks guys. I'll post some others I've done. I had a friend who got me in touch with Shocker Toys a few years ago. They wanted me to design and build three displays for them to use at the New York Toy Show. After I got them finished found out that they wanted them for free and me pay the over night shipping. Lets just say they have been repurposed for personal use. I have a Midnight Rooftop, Barbarian Castle, and a Sidewalk Street Scene. The rooftop became my Midnight Rooftop Meeting in Gotham City with an added rooftop door. The Barbarian Castle got Hogwart's banners and became a Hogwart's Castle. Now I'm reworking the sidewalk street scene. I'm using scrap magnetic sign material on the background so I can change the plain brick wall to one with my logo on it. Then I can also add a custom billboard to the wall or a fire escape using magnets or little strips of metal.

Who's the character holding the pistol? Is it Snake Pliskin from Escape from New York? |

Thanks Elliot. Thats the Snake! I loved that movie. I've found several of these action figures at the toy shows. I've got two loose ones. I've thought about cutting the coat off and repainting it to look more like Snake's brown leather jacket and removing the jacket from the other one. I could never figure out why they made the figure with the wrong coat. One figure was issued with Escape from LA on the package and his outfit was completely different for that movie. I've seen a custom Snake Pliskin figure using this head and weapons added to a Nick Fury figure from the Marvel Movies. Looks just like Escape from LA.

Snake Plissken!? I thought he was dead.
Looks pretty good. The other two sound pretty good, too.
