Zoe's Jurassic Christmas
My son's girlfriend's little 6-year-old girl Zoe really likes my models and toys.
I gave her Star Wars figures for her birthday and while we were playing, I asked he what she wanted for Christmas. 'What are you going to make me?' 'What would you like me to make for you?' 'Dinosaurs!' Here was the game plan: Dinosaurs planned are the kamikami.jp dino's from web.archive.org/web/20061214035445/http://www.kamikami.jp/index.html Patrick Pasques's Explorer from www.maquettes-papier.net/forumenpapier/topic6886.html The Jeep, which I may have to upgrade at pauloomarcio.deviantart.com/art/jeep-wrangler-of-Jurassic-Park-185345302 The gate from PaperToys Clemper, which is only available from pirate sites, but I'll post the Wayback Machine link that no longer gets you a valid link, web.archive.org/web/20111111114226/http://papertoysclemper.blogspot.com/2011/08/welcome-to-jurassic-park-new-jurassic.html Would it be inappropriate to add a goat or cow to the set? Probably The trick to the dinos is to mirror print on the back so that you don't have the obnoxious white showing on the insides After starting the project, Momir Farooq added Alien Trees to his Character Scale figures, www.momirfarooq.com/swcharacter/swcharacter3d.html

The Jeep was a disaster and required a major re-work. The original model, Nedry's last ride, required me to print up new parts that would fit, so then I made a repaint of #10, the one they took to 'find my grandchildren', then I reworked it for an 'acceptable' #18, the one they took from helicopter to the visitor center.
It was such a pleasure to go back and do Pat's Explorer, as it always builds well Then I needed to get busy on Dinos

The dinos at kamikami did not have a velociraptor, so I grabbed the image off the back of a Brazilian phone card and came up with this little fellow
I'm not sure why the close-up doesn't show, so let's try a different route

In between dinos, I started working on the trees, and decided they needed to be bigger. They also were more fiddly than they needed to be, so I reworked them.
EDIT-- not sure why I am having so many issues posting images today, but I will link to other images instead of doing attachments

Now that's a great story, and you did a magnificent job, VK. Zoe is going to love the dinos and the vehicles. A very lucky girl!
Merry Christmas to you and your family. Gary

Getting closer to the wire, I gave my son a choice, Gate or more dinos.
He said Dinos. Designed a Brachiosaur from an internet image at the Jurassic wiki

Then my gf Kathy said I really needed a pterodactyl, so I came up with a pterosaur
Added some of the Papercruiser rocks to the tree bases, and now it is all boxed up and ready to go. I hope she is excited about these
