Good evening.
This will be the final update till the reveal.
Spent the last couple of days working on the last elements of this build. Namely the Katana and it's stand.
Started first with the grip, "Tsuka".

With the grip done moved on to the blade.
The blade consists of three parts to give a three dimensional look to the blade.

From here the blade is then glued into the grip. This completes the sword itself.

The next part to construct was the scabbard, or "Saya". A fairly simple build.

The final piece was the construction of the stand for the Katana. Mostly a box type construct.

The finished Katana and stand.

Now to marry up all the elements and mount them to the base.
I should have final pics in a couple of days.

Thank you for following.
Questions and comments welcome.

I like the bamboo mat that you added. It gives it that extra touch that kicks it up a notch.
I am looking at making this as well. I think that I will use this thread as a guide (if you do not mind).
