Hello guys, thanks for all the kind words!
Ruben, the statue looks swell, but I don't think I can do it in 1:500 I'll be more like the Gagarin monument made out of a match. Don: sounds cool. As a side story - with my then 5yo son we used to parachute the Apollo CM (1:144 scale) from our balcony when we lived in a block estate.

So, I returned to this project after some break.
Here go two trafo buildings. And the aerial pedestrian pass got railings. I intend to do aerial pipeline across the street into the boiler room builind. Also have some cars handy already, maybe I'll fight with a bus. Any ideas on what else can I add? Some shrubbery? How to do it in such a scale? Or trees? You guys think sponge will be good for that? One more thing is TV antennas on the roofs, but I'd need a real fine wire for that I suppose...

Shrubs are easy.
A blob of white glue, then sprinkle it with railway modellers vegetation - just the green flock. If you can get Model Scenics stuff that's perfect. If you cant, then use anything the right size - in small scale, I have used bicarb of soda and even salt, and painted it afterword. Tea works well too - you can mash it up to make it smaller. Open a tea bag and see what you think! Have a look at your herbs and spice as well! Leave the aerials - too small. How about some bits on the roofs - maybe the odd few shapes. Some very thin card - cut some little squares or rectangles to represent vents or roof things! Have a look at the building in Google Earth or Maps to get ideas?

Definitely has the look of a grim and cheerless metropolis!

Thanks for the advice, Kevin. I'll defintely try tea an print some roof decals.
Also some progress - steam pipeline. We did have those back in the 80's in my hometown too.

Godai - ideas for the roof decals or paper cutouts. Try some ordinary paper cutouts - just to give that visual depth, but not too much!
