To the Moon!

Over at Cardboard Warriors we have a monthly theme (and I'm the one who formats the files and builds everything for the Promo Photo)

This month was 'To the Moon!' in honor of Apollo 7, To the Moon -- Forum Hoard 170 (October 2018) | Cardboard Warriors forum

Only it went in a different direction. Glenn Williams supplied a Lunar Lander, a couple of folks supplied 'First Men in the Moon' figures, Eric supplied the Lunar Bunker on the right, and I did the Domed structure, connecting passageways and the single story building on the right.

I don't know how many of you remember TommyGun from here and other forums, but we are trying to compile his files and photos for instructions and promo shots. He had requested to have them hosted, and there are several places that have bits and pieces of his work, but most are just a collection of files. We are trying to have them organized with promo shots.

My portion of this is a bit of a tribute to TommyGun and his old Sector 17 site. Hence the '17'. TommyGun had a rather unique way of doing buildings, which I incorporated into this, as well as modifications of his textures, doors, windows and roofs. Not in the Hoard, I also did the Moonbuggy, which was a modification of the Dune Buggy by Sirrob01. TommyGun had done this eons ago, and I tried my hand at doing what he did, only with consoles and the bank of equipment on the back.

You can download the Hoard at onemonk.com

Hello Dave. I'm not a tabletop gamer of any kind but I followed your link to the One Monk site anyway, and was surprised to find more than enough to interest me - vehicles, buildings and the like - and which looked fun. I couldn't resist downloading the Crypt Worm; it'll be next up after I've finished this years Christmas models.

Maybe there should be a special Holiday Crypt Worm ...

A lot of creative folk have taken part in the Hoards over the years. I'm finally getting my skills at design improved enough to contribute. And it is fun taking an idea and running with it. For our annual Christmas Wars this month, I have two versions of the Augmented Sleigh. I modified Gilius's Transport to be a Sci Fi Sleigh Transport. Extremely solid little guys. I'd previously made a UPS version and a Search and Rescue version. With a bit of weight in the nose, they fly really well. Landing well? Not so much

If someone hadn't volunteered to do it, and then didn't get it done, I would have done a Cavorite Sphere. Some day...
