Mały Modelarz Port from 1964

This is the venerable Mały Modelarz Port from 1964 in 1/400. Printed in Gray tones and colored details with felt pen. I modified and shortened the port and left the details unglued for easier storage. The water is aluminum foil painted and the base is foam board. Unfortunately, the glue bended a little bit the scene and the printing were uneven. In any case, I see the value to display my models. I added a few simple Japanese for looks. I hope you like it.

Ohh.. that's a nice surprise to see that kit built!

Modelik has released a (less modern) port kit in 1/400 scale just recently (abc - Modele kartonowe od producenta) - I think both "basins" would look nice side by side!

Hi All,

And hi, wireandpaper. I agree with the comments so far that it is nice to finally see the assembled kit and the build is clean and straight, too. Your painted aluminum water looks convincing as well.

A shipshape job all around.

Score and fold,

Thumb Dog

Thank you for stopping by and your constructive encouragement.

Dear Michik, yes! I already got the Russo-Japanese War era harbor. I also highly recommend it.

Dear Astroboy, if you enlarge the last page to 1/400 the diorama would be about 76 X 55 cm. I reduced digitally the length to 50 x 55 cm.

Dear Michael, your kind words mean a lot to me.

Dear Thumb Dog, also thank you, you have been providing us with all those obscure and interesting models for so many years.

Dear Viator, you are right. I am planning to use the model for a pre-invasion scene with the help of JSC models, including the armored vehicles and the loco engine from their costal batteries.

Fantastic idea and execution. Nice to see old models come to life. Old Maly models were what brought me back to paper modeling at the beginning of digital era.

Pretty neat. And I like that it includes cars/wagons from the railway.

For some versatility in terms of railway vehicles you could easily use 1/300 scale minibox(ish) models, scaled down to 75% of their original size.

There are several sources available, probably the one with the biggest selection of models at doprava.unas.cz >> Modely
