I will definitely keep your window pane attachment idea in mind. Double sided tap definitely seems a good method for flat panes at least.

good progress Tim, glad that marlene turned up. the only thing with double-sided is that does dry out over time and lose its stick.

I do plan to put each trailer in a diorama. However, at the moment I am unable to buy some of the supplies needed.
