Sorry for the lack of updates. Things have been very hectic over at the office such that by the time I get home, I'm already brain dead. The only thing my brain is capable of doing is to play a couple of rounds of MT:G DoTP.
Anyway, I finally finished the UV Mapping and have started working on the paint job. For the paint job, I decided to adopt a North Africa scheme. Since the HS132 would have been a dive bomber, I imagined this would have replaced one of the Stuka squadrons over there. North Africa....Stuka.... SNAKE...hmmm... So here is my WIP camo for the HS132: Watcha think? Too tacky? |

I rather Like the Nth Africa camoscheme, Eric my friend.
I seem to recall having seen the snake on both a B model Stuka and an Hs.123. It is certainly good to see your Hs.132 steadily on its' way to completion, but then too I have enjoyed this thread immensely. I wonder if you are also planning a European camoscheme, such as for a Schlageter Geschwader (Ground attack Wing) such as SG26 or SG53 (Jg26 and Jg53 were the respective "parent" units) ? If you were, you might wish to look at an Hs.123 from late 1944 in Schlageter camoscheme (yes, a few did survive til then) as these were in use as Ground Attack aircraft. I certainly like the way you've positioned the snake on the fuselage of your Hs.132, and the colour you chose for it, it reflects well on the earlier version I saw some years ago. Kind and Respectful Regards Eric my friend, Uyraell.

John,
That spotted Bf109 camo scheme is one of my all time favorites. Would you know the actual color used for the spots? I have many reference books that have that color photo. Unfortunately, it's really hard to tell from the photo exactly what color was used. Is it some kind of dark brown? Or olive? The winter camo scheme looks great as well. Uyraell, To be honest, it was a difficult choice deciding what camo scheme to do for this one. I spent a lot of time staring at the choices...then said to myself, a why not do a couple? I'll probably do a Euro camo scheme as well. Eric |

I think I can help with the colour for the dark spots in the Bf.109 Desert camoscheme.
Back in 1986 or so there was a rather lengthy discussion on the topic among my modelling friends. The closest colourmatch we found at the time was "Dunkelgrun" (Dark Green), which if I recall correctly, is RLM78. (I can give mix-ratio hints too if you wish them.) The next candidate was Schwarzgrun ("Black Green"), which again iIrc, is RLM83. The catch is, that we thought it had been applied "stipple" fashion, rather than in painted layers as it were. {"Stippling" is acheived by having an almost dry brush that has very short bristles, and applying the colour with only the tips of the bristles which are perpendicular to the surface being painted. The result is a "mottle" effect that looks as though each dot of stippled colour is itself formed from many smaller dots of irregular size.} I hope the colour info for the dark dots in the desert Bf.109 scheme is helpful to you Eric . Kind and Respectful Regards Eric my friend, Uyraell.

Hi Uyraell,
RE: Dark Green, Black Green Thanks. I've seen a couple of sand + green camo on North Africa deployed planes as well. I'll give it a try and see how if it works out. Eric |
