Smile Done!

Engines completed and attached to the fuselage.

Canopy attached.
Only the wings, rudder and landing skid remaining.

I only used a small set of formers for the wings.

Finally, P.1080 done!

Ready for delivery to III.JG11.

I still need to work on the trolley though. But overall, I'm pretty happy with how the design turned out.

I really like the look of that. I also love the two shades of green the Luftwaffe used.

Great job.

So fast!

congratulations, a neat aircraft model!

I see you don't use any frame for wing, it is glued along perimeter to air intake part. Probably a wise choice - less parts less mistakes

Thanks!

Yes, I did not use a complete frame for the wing. I only made a minimal set of formers comprised of two wing spars -- just enough to hold shape of the wing at the wing roots. I took a risk of not creating a traditional frame that goes through the engine, hoping that the thick wing roots would be enough to ensure that the wings are properly aligned. Thankfully, it worked out well.

That's because you're a good builder, If I build this model I'm going to put an spar from side to side. I'm not trust my ability to align wings this is one of main sources why I build models with formers

Legs for my plane...

Finished working on the wireframe for the trolley.

Here's how it looks like with the plane mounted on top. (The virtual plane, that is...)

I'll work on the textures, and hopefully, the final build next weekend.

Looks interesting, waiting for textures.

I guess P.1080 intended to bee some kind "low production cost" fighter, just like He-162?

Pretty much everything on the Jägernotprogramm were meant to be low production cost fighters. I guess they were aimed at buying just enough time to allow the completion better, more stable fighters to turn the tide or at least sue for a surrender with better terms. But that's just my speculation.

You can use the Orlik schlepper as well for your design ( it is in 1/33 scale ).

Here is mine with a Lippisch P.13a
