IPMS Indy show of force- March 12th Saturday
All
Indy IPMS is coming up March 12th. As we did in Columbus, we need to make a big presence there. So far Boats, Paul and myself plan to bring our paper models. We need others to add on to our display. It is a great conversation piece and people are always asking questions. You can enter up to 5 models for $7 or $10 for unlimited ( which is the way to go if you want to flood the display tables ). Here is the site for the event. You can also download the forms and fill them ahead of time. 2011 Contest Page In the past Paul and I entered our models and did well there. I hope better
Columbus turned out surprisingly well
Colombus Ohio model Show I think Indy will be better since it is in a bigger venue and very well lit. Heck we can each bring 20 models and it can handle it. Anyone else coming? The plastic is done well too. Isaac |

The day arrived. Great show
The Indianapolis show took place on a beutifull Saturday. The drive was 2 hours from Cincinnati and at $3.50 a gallon it was a bit costly ( nothing compared to all you guys in Europe and Asia and elswhere paying almost twice as much ).
Lots of cool plastic to see and admire. Paul and I arrived there mid morning and placed our paper models. Paul brought his Fokker E.III in 1/50 sclae, the Do X in 1/100 scale and the 1/250 scale destroyer Lutjons ( did I miss something Paul ? ). I brough my airforce of 13 aircraft. The Category I entered were the Vacuforms, conversion and others which was fine. There were about 3 or 4 other plastic, vacuformed aircraft entered. We missed Boats who started out driving, but his car overheated and he had to abort the mission and head back home. Sorry we really missed you and could have used your display there. Anyhow, Paul and I did well. He placed 2nd in Airliners category with his Dornier Do X flying boat ( did you win something else ? ). I did super! I got 1st, 2nd and 3rd place ( I overwhelmed the category with my 13 models ). A tripple crown. Reality is that I did it for show not for glory, but I have to say I felt kind of good about it. So here are some pics Cheers Isaac |
