7th Annual Event, IPMS Guadalajara, Mexico
I was able to travel to Guadalajara, Mexico; and have a great time with all the IPMS guys from all over the country.
I also took models to the event. I got First Place in paper airplanes (Orlik Me 109 G2) , and Second Place in paper boats (Currell's Titanic). Oh, and my little girl got First Place in Child Miscellaneous Category, with a laser cut wood puzzle painted with watercolor. |

Thank you for the kind words!
I hope next event in Mexico City (October) to take more models, and keep on paving the way to paper modeling. |

Excellent work and congratulations, Gerardo! I have to laugh because I recently completed that exact same Messerschmitt for an upcoming IPMS contest.
If I may, how many card model categories did they have in the contest? Are card model categories common in IPMS contests in Mexico? Keep up the good work! -Doug |

Hi, doug... sorry I missed your reply.
Paper modeling in Mexico is still in diapers... or not even that... IPMS Mexico still needs to see us on the events more and more. So for this event in Guadalajara, there were 3 categories, airplanes, boats and armor. Best of lucks with your 109, man! |

Thanks for the information. The US is very much in the same situation. The hard part is motivating people to compete. Thank you! It ended up taking 1st in a field of 4 for aircraft but lost out for best card model to a Schnellboat (and rightly so). -Doug |
