Oh Dear....

I was able to meet Mr. Fyn in person at the 2010 IPMC where he gave a wonderful presentation on paper models, marketing, and the Internet. His table was next to mine at the convention, and he was an absolute joy to hang around with. Great stories, told in a gentle, off beat way. My kind of guy.

R.I.P. Chip Fyn. I'd like to think you, Barry, and Ron Hall are makin' stuff "up there" right now......

Mike

Such a great loss for the modelling community. Fg was such a wealth of easy models and Chip will be missed saddly leaving a gulf for new modellers.
RIP Chip
I am saddened by this loss

It was Chip's website I found many years ago that got me into this hobby. I've followed his site and obtained many models from there. Models on his site have brought many into the hobby. He will be truely missed. Rest in peace, modeling pal.

I will miss him greatly. How often can any of us say that when we had a question or problem with a company, the owner and president himself will respond personally within a day or two?

Truly a sorrowful event for our hobby. An FG SE5a, printed in England on a postcard, was one of the first paper models I bought from PMI many years ago, and I had occasion over the years to communicate with Chip over the Internet.

Thank you, Chip, for all you did for this hobby. RIP.

Very very sad news. Chip is the main reason I have ecardmodels now. We talked at length before I even got the shop open in the first place. I went with a totally different business model carrying different kinds of kits so as to not take away his business. We had exchanged a couple emails about his business future but never really got anywhere. I will look into getting some kind of memorial fund set up in his honor unless someone already has something in the works that I can help out with....

As with many, my first introduction to paper modeling was though FG. I put together (poorly) the free Piper Cub that he offered, and got hooked. So I bought all his DVDs. Chip was invariably gracious and generous, and gave me a significant discount because I bought all of them. RIP, Chip. We'll miss you.
