Fiddlers Green Scale Calculator

Already seen a few threads and posts cropping up about converting scales with FG models, based on their unique WSAM scales. I thew together a little spreadsheet that will do the calculations for you. This will be very useful for the competition.

To use, just enter the WSAM % as a whole number into the orange box. The current scale if printed at 100% is listed next to it in yellow. In the blue area we have the percentage to print at in order to get to common scales. If your intended scale is not listed, enter it in the dark blue box and the percentage is calculated.

I uploaded the file to the English Instructions section of the Downloads page. Zip file contains both an ODS and XLS formatted spreadsheet - both are the same.

Good luck to all in the competition!

Wow!! This really helps. I have to admit...trying to convert the WASM can get confusing.

For the past seven years or so, I have had an FG Conversion formula taped to the monitor shelf of my computer desk. It reads "60 x (WSAM percentage) divided by .100 = print percentage" It didn't take me long to realize that a move of the decimal point after multiplying 60 by the WSAM percentage would eliminate the division stage. However, I still used it by substituting the scale I wanted in the .100 position. But somehow, I'd still mess it up once in a while.

Hopefully, this product will eliminate my errors. Thanks 8v)

Chip, feel free to take the download from here and add it to your website on the WSAM page.

Edit: Just noticed that this was Chip's first post. I'm honored.
