FGMM: The Extension

Hi All,

My deepest apologies for not keeping this up to date.

My real life has been pretty hectic as of late, and I haven't had a lot of desire to even build anything.

I have also been tardy on some of the housekeeping jobs that go with the contest, sorting out judging and prizes.

I would like to thank Old Troll and Ashrunner for donating kits as prizes for the winners.
I really need to get the list of prizes that I have gotten from them, so you can be inspired.

I know that Sunday, the 4th of July, is the end of the challenge, but I am willing to extend it for those who want/need more time, and for the new folk who might want to join in.

I am thinking about the US Labor Day weekend, and September 6th, that Monday, as the deadline.

This will give me some more time to work on the judges, and listing the prizes, and maybe even build something.

Rick

It might not be fair to those who have worked hard to meet the deadline, but as one who has not been able to build, but who has a window of opportunity for building opening up at the end of July, I would personally be delighted to see this extension go into effect . . . but would also understand if the decision is made to adhere to the original deadline.

Oh Jeez....., just when I was gonna officially give up on the Jenny! Got frustrated by uneven wing struts and the specter of all that rigging.

Now I might just have to revive my build thread and even post photos!

Extending it is a possibility or finishing this one as planned (with some extra time for the housekeeping) and maybe starting another one later this summer/early fall. Don't know if we can get as many great prizes again but it is a thought.

I'll happily go with any decision you make.

I personally will not meet the orginal deadline with my last and so so far unfullfilled entry - twenty wings and all. ;-) So I would like to see more time for the competition. And if the organizer/organizers have been/are busy why not give more build time. The alternative is that results would be late anyway.

There was no way in H-E-double hockey sticks I was meeting the deadline. I hadn't even started final build stuff yet. Thanks Rick :D:D

I for one would like to see an extension, but understand if we want to stop as planned. I, too have a planned entry that is still in pieces.

Good. Thanks.
However, to be fair, you could judge and award prizes for those that submitted before Sherri's birthday, too.

I hate when deadlines are extended.
I think it is totally unfair to those who have already met the requirements of the contest.
I host contests on my airbrush site.
I extend the deadline every time I host one! lol
I hate for anyone to miss out on the opportunity to get an entry in!

ya gotta do what keeps the "members" happy!

Although, might I suggest to all that the extension is for those who have not already submitted an entry?
Thats what I do with my airbrush members...just to keep the playing field as level as possible.

If you have already got three entries in (like me), then no fair taking advantage of the extension.
If its a case of "just haven't got that first entry in yet"...then get crackin'!

got the J-3 Piper cub in the making, i really could use the extension, if not just to get me going again
haven't built anything since beginning of may (due to happenings in life) but i really miss the concentration paper modeling brings so i'm slowly getting started again
