'Canti from FLCL (Fooly- Cooly)
I'm prepping out the next model from Big O but thought I'd build on this in between scoring all those other pages...
This was patterned in 2008. I started with the guitar.

Okay! What was an unplanned busy holiday weekend and the following work week are now completed so it is time to return to this build.
As its been some years since I patterned this I was curious as to why I had pieces with inverted textures and some intersecting pieces so I went back to the source files. The original was a 6kt file which when imported to Metasequoia lost all texture info but went cleanly into Pepakura albeit with some inverted faces. As I obviously thought at the time it was buildable I patterned it and I'm sticking to that and doing whats needed as I go along. ABDOMEN/WAIST: After building the internal support I saw the two covering pieces needed a cutout to accomodate the support. I have added those to the pattern. Note that the "waist" piece needs to be slid over the support then closed around it. With this done it's on to the chest.

CHEST:
No modifications needed here. Form the chest, glue the support inside and close the back. Add external pieces and there you go. Think I'll tackle the head next.

HEAD:
Started with the three pieces that go inside the head. After those I finished all but the rearmost face. I'll close it after the external side pieces are on.

HEAD2:
I assembled all extetior pieces. The two that run down the "jaw line" I glued first at the back then to the front edge, lightly pressing down to achieve curvature down the sides. The two pieces on the back rear area are edge glued. The remainders are glued straight on. Time to do legs and stand this thing up (if my yards still to marshy to work in.)

LEGS/FEET
No modifications. Arms and hands next.

ARMS
Again, straightforward. Components, internal structure, exterior pieces. I held off on the two cylinders that insert in the top of the arms to cap the posts in the torso. I want to check something first. Going there now.

JACKET/WINGS
Simple assembly. I wanted to see if it was actually wearable. While the arms rest on top of the sholder pins instead of inserting them the answer is yes so I will make the hands interchangeable.

HANDS
Again, no assembly issues. I whipped up some cones for the wrists and hands are now interchangeable. Three things left to do.
