The playmate of the French hussard 1807 by Zio
Pics are better than words and here they are. Zio had enlarged the bosom of this figurine and apart from that nothing more. Add-on is the toilet-tissue panty for the girl to maintain the moral standard of this forum for members and their family. If okayed by the admin people here, the un-censored pics may be released.

Really beautiful! Not an easy task for paper.
I understand that figures depicting Adam and Eve's cloths are not permitted in IPMS events, and many clubs don't allow them at their gatherings either. I've never seen one... except on Model Fiesta even in February here in San Antonio, with a stylish and highly artistic model of a lady inside a Japanese house... but you have to ask the modeler for a view without restrictions (kids not allowed to see); and it was not in any adult-related posing or anything like that. And I know that in Mexico and in Spain, these figures are allowed to be displayed without any censoring, because they are seeing and understood as pieces or art, not adult-related subjects (I refrain to use strong words here to avoid search-engine restrictions). Would IPMS USA and modeling clubs would take these figures as art, just like other sculptures and paintings? What would be the standard for it? |

Dear Papermate:
I like the Zio Figures, However I print them on 11x17in. cardstock. Did you print yours on the 8.25 by 12.6 in. European card stock or did you blow it up on larger card stock? Several people here on the forum have done the figures from 8.5X11in. Card stock and done well I have tried this size several times and given up and gone to printing on the larger format stock and added layers to the figures. I don't know if the figures are now still on the web or not several of us between us will have an archive of his figures. Miles |

Thank you guys for stopping by. The figurine was downloaded from Zio's website some time ago. That website no longer exists after Zio passed. May be you can try the wayback machine.
As regards the paper, I used ordinary printing paper as it is easier to curl and bend. There's a lot of work curling and bending, especially the head, the bosom and the body. Actually, I couldn't shape the buttocks satisfactorily. I don't suggest cardstock as the paper is too thick to work with and the seams are too visible. This is where the challenge is (the shaping of the part) when building Zio's figures and horses. To me, the difficulty is very much like sculpting but with paper yet without cutting or chiseling in on the surface of the paper. Be sure to print several copies of the same template just in case, and if necessary, photoshop relevant parts to make it larger, like the bosom in building the Amazzone. I enlarged the bosom to 110% in the sword-drawing amazon, see here http://www.papermodelers.com/forum/531503-post16.html. And, the main thing is still patience, patience and patience. Papermate |

Zio's models are still available via the wayback machine. Besides the Hussar, he also has a nudie Cuirassier. Both can be found here: Zioprudenzio - Altri lavori di carta - Others paper works

I've built several of Zio's figures, and I have to say that your Hussar girl came out very good indeed. Well done!

Hussard's lass has got a friend, the Cuirassier's girl. Maybe I'll touch up the girls to make them look better (or worse). The helmet of the Cuirassier's girl is removable, just in case you're curious.
