3D Paper Pilot Figure
The 3D paper pilot - skeletal form - is now presented for general viewing. The scale is 1/32 or 1/33 as stated. The head needs special mention. On the instruction sheet, it is said that 200 gsm paper should be used. It results in a flat skull. After rebuilding it with 1mm card, the skull (head) becomes more normal. I think the head need some special treatment like filling the layers (11 of them) with filler and then sanding and then repainting to put the facial features back. Lots of work, if you want to make it look more human-like rather than the present robotic look. The head, about 1/7 of the height of the figure is a good standard of proportion.
As regards the joints, I used thin wires to the shoulders and pelvis to enable posing. And posing, it's another matter that one should read more about the human skeleton and muscular frame of the body before considering what poses of the figure are intended. I think after putting on the gears and clothes, the pilot figure should look much better. I'm about to start a big build project and thus won't be continuing with clothing the figure, maybe later. Fantastic work Papermate, If you glue the sheet on a 1mm card it becom in a piece more than 1mm, your pieces seams less than 1mm, (seams to me by the pictures) and the head you will need 0.5mm card or 200gr to glue the sheet. I tried not to have lot of piece for the head becouse as you said thats a lot of work, but in the 1:25 scale will be more pieces. Soon its goint to be available the Soviet pilots!

Card tipe
@ Papermate, as you can see here with a 1mm card its perfect for the body and 200gr (or 0.5mm) for the head, maybe you up-scale your model?
