Very nice job so far. I've built 2.5 of Zio's figures. The last one is in a safe place awaiting his final arm and accoutrements. They are loads of fun, and are really all that difficult for an experience modeller. Are you planning on building one of Zio's Zulu warriors to accompany him?

Hello folks, thanks for the comments. There are actually two Zulu warriors to accompany this one, so one of these has to be next.

One of the parts I had problems with was the Martini-Henry rifle, I just couldn't get the small folds. So I carved one from a piece of balsa. A lick of paint, and some hardware from plastic tube and paper.

The figure assembled and the equipment straps going on. The straps have some extra layering to the buckles. The arms will be fitted once the equipment is in place.

Stay tuned.

Bernie

Belated kudos, Bernie. Somehow I missed the beginning of this thread. Looks great! Is a soldier of the Gettyburg Campaign in the works?

Hello all. A little more progress. Webbing straps and equipment being fitted.

Don, a Gettysburg infantryman would be excellent. Perhaps some of Zio's other figures would lend themselves to modification. However, I have started a scratch-build on another Gettysburg combatant.

All the best and happy modelling.

Bernie

Very nicely done. They are addicting little buggers, aren't they?

Excellent job Bernie! Reminds me of the movie "Zulu" about the battle at the little British outpost at Rorke's Drift.
