Helmet Bird
Something a little different.
This is a free download, although I'm sorry to say I can't remember where I found it. The "bird" is one of the figures from a painting called "The Garden of Earthly Delights" By Hieronimus Bosch. Heaven knows why he has a crossbow bolt in his leg or what he's carrying in his beak ! The most complicated bit was what I could describe as his trousers, but as they are almost covered up it wasn't a problem. Cheers MikeS |

That's some crazy stuff right there. I have this one, and the other 2 birds from the Bosch painting as well, in my "to do" pile. I doubt that I'll live long enough "to do" everything in that pile, but I'll try my best. Nice job BTW. Did you paint the inside of the helmet black, or is it double sided? I've seen the model with the interior of the helmet left white. I like it better in black.

I love this guy! I know there is another Bosch by the same designer, but I can't remember where he is, either. Unfortunately, as I recall, the models are only available in PDO format, not yet workable for us Mac folk. We'll have to be content looking at your beautiful builds!

Chris,
The Glue2 site has the "Helmet Bird" and "Letter Bird" as both .PDO and .BMP files; the other two models are .PDO only. I know that Pepakura Viewer has been successfully run on Macs with PC emulators. |

Thanks for the comments.
The inside is painted as are the "bars". I go to almost extreme lengths with all my models to ensure there are no white areas - even dots - showing. Could you send the URL for the others? The National Gallery in London has models of a few of the "characters" from the painting but they are quite expensive. cheers |

OOOOps,
I should have read the notes properly. I've found the site and the other characters - now I have to get the PDO viewer ! |

Man, you really got lost, didn't you? :-) Go here: PaperModelers.com - Downloads - 2001 Moonbus Click on the big "Download" button. For future reference, look to the upper right on your screen and you'll see the "Downloads" tab. Every forum seems to have a different way of getting to its files, even if the overall layout is similar. |
