Unfold Brazil Captain America (Capitao Versao)
Here is something new for me, I finally decided to try a figure (my five year old grandson may have had input).
Anyhoo, this is a pepakura model so there are no real "instructions". So I started from the bottom and worked my way to the top. Firstly I had to convert it from A4 to Letter size, which was accomplished in the PDF viewer, then I was good to go. I started with the feet and made little envelopes to hold 10 pennies each for foot. Now remember this is the first one of these beasties I have tried so I tried to form the fold lines, not realizing they were really necessary (these show up pretty well on the 3D side of the pepakura viewer. as I worked up the legs I started to loose those "creases". When you look at the pictures you will see what I mean. The parts fit really well with a couple of exceptions, I had trouble with the inside of the elbows, and the head. I just massaged the elbow parts carefully 'til I got them to fit. The head was an entirely different problem. First it seems to small (I built it as the size in the kit) and secondly the Captain has a severe under bite which I could not fix. There is also a piece on the jawline that I had to trim. I stuffed the ol' Capt. full of toilet paper to make sure he holds his shape and below are pictures of the finished product. Beard |

That turned out very good for your first try at a pepakura based figure.
Building a paper model that was processed for and through pepakura always seems to present some sort of head scratching.

Looks good to me. The pieces of the first (and only) pepakura based figure I tried are still laying in a drawer.

Thanks for the comments guys. But, alas, the Capt. is no more, the wife and I went out shopping and when we returned our husky and lab/dane cross had their way with him, lol. Guess it doesn't matter that his head was too small.

those damn cats!!!!!!!aaaargh!!!!!!!!!
I tried to build a Batman paper model...from a pepakura file. ...man it was frustrating without proper assembly diagrams. I had a lot of trouble with the upper torso...things just didn't go together well. And the cape still is not attached properly. I never finished the model...the Hands didnt get built. Just too complicated. And with all the other errors, I just couldn't be bothered to deal with them. So I gave up. I didn't toss it though...and luckily, my Fish haven't chewed it up yet. Maybe one day...

Hee hee. Now I know you've got a thing about cats Dave, but yer wrongly accusin' 'em this time. Around my neck o' the woods a Husky and a Lab/Dane cross would translate as a couple of rather desirable DOGS.

He said...his dog(weird cat) destroyed the model.
A real Dog would not do such a thing. So it has to be a cat in disguise. A cat...in a dog suit.
