Warrior Bug

Well I gained a lot of info and a model by inquiring here about Paragon's Tailspin Sea Duck, so here goes another one ...

Did anyone ever download this from Paragon's website before the downloads were chopped? I have located an undeveloped .pdo file, but it looks way too big and detailed for me to unfold, and shrink. It doesn't have any texture applied either.

Didn't have to download from there. Downloaded from Jim's site before he sold the site, onemonk.com

Thank you. I just knew they had to be out there somewhere. I would still like a slightly more realistic rounded out model though.

I fed that .pdo into Pepakura Designer and clicked on 'Unfold' ... Well the good news is that the model isn't as huge as I was expecting. Everything fitted onto one page, but there were hundreds of tiny bits. Way too complex for me to even think about sorting them into a build-able arrangement. Anyone else fancy a try?

These are the One Monk versions as suggested by VK.

For 2+1 D flats they are pretty good, but having built them as designed I now feel that a bit of experimenting is called for.

Both the main body and the legs are two sided (ie: double thickness) so added padding could well produce a better 3D appearance, and/or a x25% shrink should still be quite buildable in 2D mode.

I've done a few of those, and did a few printed two-pages per page.

Are they up to 'movie prop' standards? No, but they are a lot of fun

if you ran toothpicks or wire inside them, and then maybe some kind of air dry clay? or paper mulch? I think there is a thread on making paper mulch clayish material here. you could enhance one of these guys and make it look very good. there are a couple of figure makers here that might be of great help!
