Xmas begins at LS Papercraft

Nice looking Christmas Dolly. It's free. Anyone interested?

Nah, it's too low poly and edgy for my liking. I am working on a nice curvy Mermaid though. It's a very delicate build, so my clumsy fingers are having to take it very slowly. Tail to waist have come out nicely curvy and I'm now starting on the interesting pink bits. BITS ... I said BITS.

I'm experimenting and modifying as I go on this one as it's a kit-bash of several designs and added textures. I haven't decided which head I'm going to use yet. I have several in mind, but regrettably even the half sized Jessica head is way too big for this figure. She should be finished before Xmas though.

That first one must be well hidden. Which mermaid are you doing?

Well, found the first doll

Hee hee ... LS Papercraft isn't so easy to search. I think the idea is to get you to look around at all the others as well. There's some fantastic models on offer if you have an interest in the subjects, but the music gets a bit monotonous. I take it you found the Xmas Dolly eventually though.

The basic form of the mermaid came from here ... Mermaid Papercraft | Free PaperCrafts, Paper Models ... but as you may find, the download no longer works. I only downloaded it a couple of weeks back, so why the link no longer works is a bit of a mystery. As you can see from #4, I have already embellished it quite a bit, and I'm modifying the awkward and complex original interlocking tabs to under taped butt joints for smoother seams. It is not an easy build by any means, especially with my numb fingertips, but I am progressing slowly.

She now has a chest and one boob. Like her butt, the boobs are very well designed, but difficult to form, and I may yet decide to scrap and try again. I had planned on incorporating a sea shell bra anyway, so hopefully that will cover some of the scruffy seams. There's no rush for this one ... it's purely for my own enjoyment.

Wow, that tail you came up with is exceptional ... much better than solid pink

I did re=colour the tail to green and built it straight to start with, but the seams showed up way too much in a plain surface. So I found a scaled pattern texture sheet and wrapped it with longitudinal seams that blended in nicely. The tail fin and side fins came from a kids 2D cut out toy.

I'll probably use that bra too, but it will have to be re-sized and curved to fit.

Wow, I probably should have recognized the MadunTwoSwords' mermaid pantin. Excellent merger of the two projects.
