Kaperkit Rifleman

Hi All,

I thought I would post photos of a model I just finished
This model is the Kaperkit Rifleman (pictures below). The Kaperkit models are fairly scarce. I looked for a link on the web and found one mention on a site which reports the results of valuables auctions. (https://www.worthpoint.com/worthoped...kits-496654024)

What I really like as it is kind of an abstract representation rather than a realistic model. As I said in earlier posts, I am very enthusiastic about models that capture the spirit of an object as opposed to the physical manifestation.

It makes up into a very nice 13” model and is printed on a nice textured paper. Beyond the appearance factor, textured paper facilitates working on touch-ups with oil/chalk pastels and paint which I generally do.

Over the years I have collected a couple of other Kaperkits, the Beefeater, the Mounty and the Indian. I know there are others, e.g., Baden-Powell so if anybody runs across one I would be interested. I’ll post others as I complete them.
Best
Barry

I have the Rifleman and the Mounty as well, and I also have, and built George Washington
there were two sets/series of Kaperkits, one die cut, one not, just in case you were wondering

Thanks so much! I have the Mounty but if you run across George Washington or Baden-Powell again, please let me know.

I did not know there were punch out and cut out. The ones I have are all cut out. Separately, I also have a rather complex Polish mounted soldier that I will work on at some point. Thank god I'm retired.
Best

Very nice model. As you say this type of models although they are far from realistic have a special charm that to see them produce a different feeling or emotion than what is produced by seeing another more realistic model. I do not know if I express myself well, seeing a more realistic model, one looks for things faithful to the original, in these we see different things. I hope you understand what I try to express. A greeting, very nice model

I like the 'animation' feel of the model.
