7 Skeletons

These pictures could quite well sit in other topics - Sci-Fi ? Diorama?

With so many skeletons the odds are in favour of Figurines....

Anyone of a "certain Generation" will recognise the origins of this diorama ;-)

It is the1963 film film "Jason and the Argonauts". Stop motion animation had been around for a while but Ray Harryhausen took it to a new level.

Clips of the battle can be found on You Tube.

The figures stand on a base about 10 inches square and the figures are about 4 to 5 inches tall. All the skeletons are the same so a certain amount of bone surgery was needed. It seemed to me that the hands were the wrong way round - the thumbs pointed backward when the arms hung down. Each skeleton is made up of 10 parts and apart from the above comment the fit was good.

It makes a change from buildings !

Cheers
Mike

I like that film.I have it on DVD and it looks so much better than VCR version taped from TV.Moving Talos statue scene is my favorite.Sound it makes made my skin crawl when I was little.

Good looking skeletons -are they a kit somewhere or your invention?

Nice build Mike. Oh yes, I remember building Uhu's scallywags back in 2013. Right fiddly little beggars they are, but the worst thing was persuading them to stand up. I hadn't found out about using super-glue to harden up the bones back then, so I had to use crafty posing so that an elbow, hand, or sword tip touched a wall, column or another scallywag to steady them. They stayed up long enough to take pictures, but I can only find one now.

Did you build the eighth one too?

I used those skeletons for a rack and a hanging cage. I will have to dig up the pictures.

Thanks for the comments.

The kit is available here -

Jason and the Argonauts - Skeleton Army Free Papercraft Download

There's no super glue or hidden wires on my army. It's all in the feet, get them in the right place and they seem to be stable.

I didn't make the 8th figure because I've just received a "commission" from the NT property where I "work". They want a load of birds for an exhibition that starts in June

Cheers
Mike

Unfortunately, Uhu says ..."It has been released. Download end" as do most of his models now.

Makes me wonder what url Mike put up before Rick changed it?
