Yup. VK is right - give it a varnish.

Not certain if I would go for matt or gloss - I think matt would work better. And you can use this for your other models as well.

Local hardware shop - Spray Mate - works well. About R 70.00 +/-.

Hello hrogers,

very well done! Good looking chess game...

As a suggestion: there exist a lot of other cardboard chess games in www,

for example these two:

https://creativepark.canon/en/conten...337/index.html

the second one:

members.home.nl/papermodels/

doesn't work. But you can "google" with "sheila papermodel" and you get that link above, but then it works, but I don't know why the direct way doesn't work???

Totally weird. I played around and cannot explain it! But it does have something to do with the way you copied it.

I copied it and here - it works!!!

First off, nice chess set you made.

I have not made the chess set from Sheila's Papermodels but did make the trebuchet many years ago.

I look at the trebuchet from time to time too, but I'm not as brave as Doug.

Chess

Thanks everybody
I did try and give the silver a clear coat, it made it more damp so I respray the pieces again - The Clear did not work out very well.
The clear took the gloss away, did not try it on the Bronze color
This was still a practice model for me and it will be given away to a Indian girl that is working with us.

I might get a better results next time, because some of the parts that must be joined don't align 100%
I found yesterday one of the programs that I download a few years ago
that might help me to replace some of the parts
The program is Siatki / 3.2 & 4.1
You must just give the sizes and it will convert the image for you.
If I browse the internet is still show it is available in case anybody want to use the program

I've already download the chess set from Canon e few months ago - one day I'll try that set out

Beautiful work on your pieces! Can't wait to see the board.

Don't forget the third set of pieces (red) for Megachess, aka triad chess. Three players equals a whirlwind (relatively speaking), cut throat game, with the possibility of unholy alliances and double-cross. Make sure your friendships are solid before you play.....

The chess board is already completed and the pieces was on the board
here is the view of the board. Was battling with this board
The more I tried to fixed it the more damages was occurred
So I decide d I'll leave it just as it is .
The board is made out of paper file cover coated in plastic

Interesting!!! I like chess (even though I barely know how it works), we had a tiny chess set when I was little, but I don't know where it is.. Maybe I should try this!!
