Update 8-28-09

I've cut and assembled the Intakes, engine exhausts and the fuel tank?

Engine intakes and exhausts.

Engine intake/exhausts assembled

Engine intakes and exhausts glued to UMIDORI Main Body

I'm not 100% sure what these parts are...I think they're the gas tanks but the end part when assembled has a square hole at the back. For now I'll call them "Pontoons."

Did that "punching along the dotted lines with the cutter" Realized that I should have used a ruler for a guide. Used a ruler for the other side.

You're progressing. The model looks good.

I think better to "punching along the dotted lines with the cutter" is just score the line with a pencil without tint or something like that.

Thanks!

I'll try your suggestion when the opportunity comes up again with the tail section. The cutter idea I followed in the Japanese instruction Drawings

Anyway, I've cut the left and right wings, and the propellers.

Individual pieces

Assembled it

The two wings with propellers assembled

The show was good but unfortunately was cut off in the 2nd season due to it's 'questionable' content. So the viewer was left hanging as to what happens next.

sad.

Yeah...quite sad. I'm trying to track down the Manga versio though...it's still running in the original manga version.

Update 08-31-09

there's a rectangular part above the main cockpit that I've cut. And a somewhat antennae like thing attached to it

For some reason the other pics have disappeared of the assembled part I'll look for it.

Assembled the tail find which consist of 3 main parts, the 2 tail fins and the center piece that attaches the fins to the tail section.

The Tail piece assembled

and now, here's the main wings with rotors attached together with the tail piece...I really like how the UMIDORI looks now with the wings attached

A[ologies for the dusty TV LOL! It's broken so I don't clean it too much.

I think I'll not be putting on the landing gears ...I like the UMIDORI displayed here in flight mode

The wings are still attached by a small strip of masking tape because I'm trying to think of an idea on how to attach and detach it easily. I might wanna display it wings folded if I get tired of it in flight mode :D

Almost 90% done. Only thing left to do are the landing gears, the 20mm Gatling gun at the nose and a small part beneath the fuselage.

So it's only the guns and the small fuselage part left to be attached.

Thanks for looking!

I always wanted a squadron of VF-1 valks but the 1/60's and the 1/48s are too pricy...:(

At least now I can make my dream squadron weee!!!

Thanks again for the comment on the UMIDORI
