French Curves

I was curious if anyone knew where I might obtain a set of French curves in aluminum, or stainless steel would be better. I've browsed online and I found some by fairgate, but it's just one shape. I'm looking for the typical 3 template Burmester set. It would just be so much cheaper if they were mass produced rather than making a set to laser or waterjet cut from the given material.

Never seen any, but they would be handy for cutting long curves and such.

This one costs $11.59 plus S&H. It's Aluminum. It's not my fault it's shaped the way it is.

BUY LANCE ALUMINIUM FRENCH CURVE 12 INCH

I think he wants metal ones to use with a blade. I have a nice set of plastic ones, but only use a pencil with them.

@Zathros: Thanks for doing the leg work, but those were the very ones I had stumbled across on my search. There are some other similar ones, but vary only slightly. They don't afford the variety I'm looking for as it were.

@nosports: Just as Zathros is saying I'm looking for some that I can use with a blade and with my embossing stylus. I have a plastic set but when I pressed the stylus against it some plastic shavings came off. I'd prefer not to ruin my plastic templates which is why I'm seeking some metal ones.

I checked with a company who could produce the largest of the three that I want for $82 roughly. So the cost is extremely high for the one. If anyone can offer alternatives I'm all for it. I'm thinking of using a nibbler in combination with a rotary tool to craft some by hand. Not sure if a nibbler can cut through stainless steel though.

Your nibbler can cut through stainless, mine can, it is the gauge and hardness that matters.

Sadly I don't own one, I was just brainstorming. Photo chemical milling could also work, and I imagine it would be cheaper. 0.04" or 20 gauge 304 stainless steel is what I think the metal ruler I use is made from.

On the German cardmodel forum kartonbau.de a guy called Robert Kofler has had your idea too. He got enough customers together who were willing to commit to buying a stainless steel French Curve (German: Kurvenlineal) to actually have a small lot lasered. You might want to contact him. If you are lucky he may have some leftovers or you may be able to talk him into having another lot produced. After all he probably kept the pattern and has a manufacurer contact. Good luck!

Here are some excellent French Curves. They're called Yvette Mimieaux's.
