The best thing to use is glue strips and edge glue the parts together.
Doing so will make the joints stronger and you will also get a cleaner finish. This process is a bit tricky to master, but once you do, you will never want to use any other method again.

Yes brand paste adhesive and Nori brand are both dextrin based. Come in jars, no cooking needed. They don't wrinkle paper.

Thumbs down first of all I don't do tabs!

secant I use only taping strips to seal my models because the real reason why? is because 1. my ink is not water proof! 2. my taping technology is masterful! 3. it protects my ink from bleeding up and not only that? it' making all my paper model very shiny like paper metal out of card stock
and the only thing I use for gluing is the axle and wheels for rotation on all fours tires for the fun of it!! I see I lot of just gluing paper wheel the the chasse not able to move or rotate! that was my original idea! in the first place! the wheels where made for spinning around like a real car would without batteries!
