Uhu's original model is vector art...there are no jpegs to deal with.
Quality and resolution are unaffected by scaling.

But he always does the preview image showing all the pages in a low-resolution jpg. I think that may be what he was trying to enlarge and divide

yes, those are very small jpegs.

if thats what you are working with, then theres not much point in building the model.

So, you need to get the proper model from Uhu's website.
Its available in his "secret library".

And it looks like Uhu has changed the admission info again and applied a new password.
So, good luck with that.
Its no wonder you tried using the low quality jpegs.
Its no wonder people look to other sources for Uhu's models.
Maybe one day, Uhu will realize why his models are pirated so much
and will stop catering to zealots only.

Yep, what is so strange is that he will allow open downloads on his stuff for varying time limits then stops the downloads and that its not easier to find on the web made available by those that were able to download it during that time frame.
