There are literally zillions of how to and build videos there.

Dear Murph
I think the model is almost unbearably beautiful, would you have any way of sending me a high quality image of it ? Liz Thanks, all of you. I'm not entirely sure what's happening, I think I've just had a "Senior Moment", I'll catch up soon !

Godemifilho has the actual model. Send him a PM, and he might send you a good high res picture of it.

Liz, add my name to the list of those who would be more than pleased to help you...maybe it would help me get rid of the builder's block I've been going through for the last year or so. Remember that the very worst question is the one that goes unasked.

Too many to choose from !
Hi All
Thanks for all your offers of help. I WILL be taking you up on them. One thing that has cropped up several times is "How to-" videos, there are just so many of them that I am bewildered by the different advice, I would just like one simple route through a build so I can learn which questions I need to ask. Ta Liz P.S. Gary Pilsworth, you designed the H.P.42 especially for me didn't you ? Thank you, thank you, thank you. One day I will make a Depron R/C flying model of it based on your design. This I swear. P.P.S. How can I bookmark a thread ?

Liz,
There are a couple of methods 1. click on the Bookmark icon in your favorite browser, in Chrome, it is the star in the address bar. 2. here in the forum, you can go to the top of the page, click on thread tools, and select Subscribe to this thread( picture of this attached to this post) Hope this helps, if any questions, just ask Rick

I'll just echo what others have said - start with some basic models (I build several ISO containers before I built my first ship). I've thrown out far more partially paper models than I have finished. (At least with digital files, you can always print a new one and start over!)

Join a Mass Model Build! We created this group build just because of your comments. It'll be a tutorial of sorts, for everyone. Build a model along with the rest of us and hopefully learn some basics and some tricks. You even get to help pick the model!

sprogs,
I'm a newbie too, and am looking forward to "Build Class 101"... why don't you join us? We can all learn and/or screw up together, and laugh in the process! Hope to see you there! Alan |
