Are you asking about Part count? (small model vs large model by part count)
Or, physical dimensions? (small vs large by Wingspan, length, etc)
Or actual Scale? (small vs large = 1/144, 1/100, 1/72, 1/48, 1/32, 1/24, 1/18)

A 1/48 scale C130 Hercules is pretty big.
But a 1/48 Mustang, is kind of small.

And big to one guy...is small to another.
Size does matter...and then again, it doesn't.

Airdave gave you a very complete explanation on the paper to use. Here I have the same problem to get 120grs up. The photo paper for certain parts is very thick and as said aidave you can not bend well and you have problems of gluing. The cardboard white goes very well in almost everything. If you do not get the right thickness, eg. 180 grs, print on what you have and hit another sheet, so you get something approximate, I do so and the result is good. that asks you as another colleague told you, after finishing the model you lacquered it or varnished it and you get the result. There are many products in paintshops or art stores that do the job well. I hope you find it useful, you have to try it until you find what which best suits your way of working.A greeting
