A 1.5 cm diameter model torpedo would be a scale of 1/22 if you use a surface vessel torpedo diameter of 324 mm.
Take the diameter of the actual torpedo and divide by the diameter of the model torpedo to get the scale. 1.5 cm = 15 mm 324/15 = 21.6 or rounded up to 22 for a 1/22 scale. If your eyes are highly calibrated you could use a 1/21.6 scale.

No offence Doug but standard torpedoes were either 21" (533mm)or 18" (457mm) so 15mm would be about ~1/35 or ~ 1/30.
At 24" (610mm) Japanese Longe Lance torpedoes would come out about ~1/40. Is this to be a model of a ship or a PT type boat? |

No offense taken, I was using the info for a Mk 32 Surface Vessel Torpedo Tube launching a Mk 44, Mk 46, or Mk 50 torpedo with a diameter of 12.5 inch/324 mm diameter. When I was on USS Fletcher DD-992 it was loaded with MK 46 torpedoes that had a diameter of 324 mm/12.75 inches. More of a modern type thingy.
You are correct about the scale with the torpedo diameters you mentioned. Ain't cypherin' neat? To figure out the scale of a particular torpedo take the diameter of the actual torpedo for the year and type of ship/boat/aircraft and figure from there.

Just did some more cypherin' and figured a WW2 Fletcher Class destroyer model would be big if you kept the size of the torpedo at
1.5 cm and maintained the scale for the rest of the ship. Fletcher Class destroyers were 376.5 ft (114.8 m) in length. The model would be 3.28 meters or around 11 feet at 1/35 3.83 meters or around 12.5 feet at 1/30 5.22 meters or around 17 feet at 1/22 .
