Need help with mini nuke paper model

Hello. I dont know if this is the correct thread to ask but could anyone inform me about this paper model?
I've made the shell and i just cant figure out how to stick the "base" to it.
Here's what i mean:

How do i stick the parts together? It clearly is possible and without adding extra tabs but how? They are simply touching. Even if i stick them with Hot glue they will fall off eventually because the touch area is too small. There is the circular thing and the 4 parts which stick that and the massive shell together without any tabs. Please someone shine your lights

the term you are looking for is Edge gluing

in the case of this model, finish the fins and the ring, and run a thin bead of glue along the edge that will touch the shell, make sure the shell is centered, and let the glue dry.

you will be surprised how well it holds

There are many models out there where edge gluing is required, it is a simple skill, just need patience

Here is a second to rickstef's edge gluing advice.
Apply a little pressure for about 20 seconds when gluing the pieces together. It is strong enough, as Rick stated, if handled gently.

Nobody commented on the "hot glue".

Hot Glue is not the ideal type of glue for paper models.
Try PVA Glue - water based craft glue, white glue, that type of thing...ask at your local craft or art store.
OR
CA (Cyanoacrylate) Glue - Krazy glue, etc

As everyone has said, apply a small amount along the edge of the part and quickly position.
Hold in place for a few seconds to let it grab.
Allow to dry for a substantial length of time before handling or attaching other parts.

You are correct, a thin edge is not a strong bonded area.
Not as strong as a tab or overlapping part.
But if you use the right glue and carefully fit the part, it should be secure enough.

If that thing is hollow inside, stuffing it with something like toilet paper will make it less likely to get crushed.
