For us to help you need to tell us the subject of the model.
Thank, plane, building etc? Name of the model and manufacturer?

Some pre-printed paper models come with a piece of card board included so some of the parts can be glued to it. It is usually used to add stiffness for support. Look through the instructions to see if there is a requirement to glue some of the parts to the cardboard. Many of the Schreiber-Bogen architectural models I buy have such a piece of cardboard for that purpose.
Some publishers show astericks (*,**, etc.) to show which parts need to be glued to the cardboard. The cardboard could also just be part of the packaging to help prevent the paper model from being folded or wound into a tube.

I've also seen some kits that include cardboard to stiffen the bundle so it doesn't get as mutilated in the mail. But I'd still check to see if the instructions tell you to use it for anything.

well, this is a case of a new person to the hobby buying a pirated kit, and not knowing any better.
The model you bought is a scan of an original pre printed mode by the designer RipperWorks At the moment, I can't find an online shop which sells this kit. Most models coming from the Czech Republic or Poland will have detailed graphics showing how parts go together, and the directions are usually, stick part 14 to 15 and repeat 7 more times. The original scale for the Dana is 1:32, I really doubt that the seller resized the model in anyway. the majority of this seller's models are available for free, and those that are pirated models from the original designer/publisher, are usually available in better quality, and price, even with shipping from Europe this is not a slight on you, you are new to the hobby, and fell victim to a bad seller on ebay, and try as we might, we have tried to get rid of sellers like this person, because he is giving the hobby a black eye.
