Good beginner kit?
I'm new to paper modeling. What's a good beginner modern tank kit?

Michael Tichy and Rawen's models are fairly simple, but small scale.
They are also nicely detailed for their size. I don't know exactly where to look for them. I found this site that has some military models by them: https://prmodels.webnode.cz/products...-michal-tichy/ I have a Leopard model by Tichy...not sure if it is in the above collection. Tanks is not a subject that lends itself to really simple designs, unless they are overly simplified, and then they're disappointing. World of paper tanks has a good collection of models but they are not easy. In fact, I found them quite challenging in many ways. And I wouldn't suggest them to a real novice. As for a free but really awesome model, paper-replika has some great Tanks. Julius' Challenger is awesome.

If you don't mind paying a little, FiddlersGreen.net has a series of easy tanks.

Unfortunately not modern tanks. There are twelve WW1 to WW2 style Tanks. He did ask specifically about modern tanks.

World of Tanks offers free models of tanks.
Some are modern. I am not sure but I think that the MT tanks are the harder models and the ƂK tanks are easier (but not simple). See: https://worldoftanks.ru/ru/media/10/?page=1 |

Yes, despite the somewhat simplified turret roof. The Leopard 2 and Leclerc seem better suited to beginners. The Merkava, on the other hand...

I second World of Tanks models.Very cool, very detailed for size and can be simple or can be tricky once you get a hang of it.

Try landships2, they have a lot to choose from and their members can probably help you to select something you like.

Once again, he did ask for "modern" tanks.
Landships is strictly a WW1 site.

I know your main interest is modern tanks, but there are many simple WWII tank models available - modern ones, not so much. The armor building process is basically the same regardless of subject, so I recommend you cut your teeth on what is readily available. When you've gotten a little experience under your belt, and then tackle a modern tank, you'll be happier with the result and will be more likely to continue with the hobby. There are some simple armor models available in our download section. After building one of those, try your hand at an intermediate level model. Julius Perdana offers a nice mix of free intermediate tank models Military
You might find something there that will interest you.
