Hi Baltic;

After looking at your picture, you might try drawing a black and white strip in microsoft paint, print it on ordinary paper and simply attaching it as waterline trim after you get the bottom on. If you are not happy with the distortion to the gray, just extend the skirt. Remember are your own worst enemy at judging your models. Other people will look at them and say, "Wow." Then you will have an impulse to explain every error of your build. Not much point to that. The project looks rescue-able without going to the expense of a replacement model. Hope this helps.
