Modeling at work
Been wanting to do some modeling for awhile now, but by the time I get home I am tired and have lost the will to do anything. The solution, build a model during lunch. Started one of Air Dave's Kool Wheels models to build up my confidence and skills. So far it's going well. The large plastic container is for parts and the model during the assembly. I have about 20 (1-2 page models) in the plastic folder

That's a tidy tool kit. I look forward to seeing the results of your lunchtime labors.

Well done - a good move. I used to make Micromodels at work once upon a time.
I like that small rectangular cutting mat by the way - I used to use an old (hard) mouse pad.

Are there any job openings at your workplace I wish to work and work on my models at the same time

Yep, lots of openings. You just have to live in East Tennessee, and want to dispatch roadside assistance through out Canada and the US. Work 10 hour shifts and you get 2 fifteen minute breaks and a thirty minute lunch, a whole hour of modeling

Neat little tool kit. Aren't you starving by the time you get home?

Over my career Ive managed to wangle model making into my job, usually by bringing in a completed piece just to -ahem- demonstrate the usefulness of using a model and then by building pieces relevant to the project in hand....

Nope I eat on one of my breaks, the thing I did forget was colored pencils, I was thinking about edge coloring and remembered no pencils. LOL

Thought I'd share what I got done last night, I get about 20 minutes of work time on the model.

Good - that's looking nice.
Actually I know someone who models at work at their work station when they do the night shift - it's dead quiet and there is no issue as they are also on standby waiting for calls. They get quite a lot done in 8 hours!
