shadow hobby circle cutter

I'm hoping beyond hope that someone can throw me a bone out there. I purchased the shadow hobby circle cutter and have been "practising" for awhile, but I am having no luck.
Cutting a circle is one thing, but I am looking at cutting a precircle from a kit and I am having no luck at all.
So I throw in the towel and ask for any hints/tricks/tips.

Thanks

I've never had much luck with circle cutters. For small circles or small holes I use punches and as they get larger just cut them out with a blade or scissors.

I tend to agree with Wayne. Not a fan of circle cutters. I have tried several types over the years without much success. I find it faster and more accurate to cut inside circles with a knife and outside circles with a pair of scissors.

There's definitely a bit of a learning curve when it comes to lining this thing up to cut pre-printed circles, it comes down to getting the hang of the "targeting" device, I'm assuming you have that, I've heard earlier models didn't come with it.

To be honest, I mainly just use mine for cutting circles out of blank card in various sizes for scratch building and extra details, I did have a bit of trouble lining it up on a few pre-printed circles but it's definitely a great little tool.

The main thing you need to worry about is that the L shaped positioning bracket is well clamped and doesn't move when you are changing from the aiming rings to the cutter itself... maybe someone with a little more experience using it can explain it better. There might be some YouTube videos to help with that also, maybe try searching there.

Thanks everyone. Scissors and blades, practice with the circle cutter. Eventually one method will work for me.

Not sure what a “precircle” is.
