Struggling with design

Hi team.
My next ship model has a cruiser stern which i am struggling with.
I'm using Inkscape to design the model and was wondering the cuts I've included are OK. I've iterally took a scab in the dark as too the actual location.

is there an equation of pattern to follow.
Any help would be appreciated.
Have included my design pics.

If designing without 3d, the gold standard is a testbuild. No simple equation beyond finite difference describes what you are trying to achieve. Try fitting parts in 3d and then tracing them down flat, rather than trial and error from 2d.

One option could be to learn a free tool like Blender 3D software with paper unfold addon. What you need for your purposes is a small part and is covered by YT tutorials and in case you run into problem I am sure the guys and girls here will help! I know one can be overwhelmed with the full functionality of such a software suite but just ignore what you don't need

If you go the test build route, start with the stern drawing of a similar model. (I can hear a lot of us say " too obvious, Al. But bashing kits may not be the first thing people think of.)
