I assume you are talking about glue "sticks"?
I have heard this mentioned before. I have never experienced glue sticks that bond strong enough...yes I have a UHU stick. I would also think it wold be very messy...or do you use a device for applying the glue from the stick?

I've been using the UHU twist lately but the bonding seems to take longer. I'm not sure whether I'm simply applying too much glue, or I need to prep the surfaces by applying a light coat of glue and letting it dry, then apply glue again for the actual bond. I suspect that my problem is most likely applying too much glue.

most of the time i use a syringe to apply the uhu and dont have a issue with drying time... i think your correct that a little less is best
