Hawker Sea Fury

I was wondering if anyone has build the 1/72 Sea Fury that is available here:

USS WASP CV7

Thinking of building the Dutch Navy version, but i'm not so sure on how to do tabless builds.

Sea Fury

Hei, legion
I hasn't built it, but i think is a good model.
But I am waiting a 1/48 or 1/32 Sea Fury.
I think that it isn't a good paper model in that scales of this interesting model.

Regards, jose luis

NOBI released a 1/48 scale Sea Fury as a free Christmas gift in 2005. Very nice model of typical TPW quality. I've built a couple of them. I like his construction method. RAF livery; dark grey over light grey with invasion stripes. Not sure if it is on his site, but you can ask him; he's a very pleasant fellow.

I haven't built the "...Wasp" model either. (I suffer from fat finger complex.) I don't understand how "tabless" construction holds you back. It's simple and, I think, yeilds a much better model. I will generally remove the tabs to create level seams whenever practical. Try NOBI's models, he includes the tabs as separate parts.

Good luck, fellow paper-benders!

Couldn't find the Sea Fury on Nobi's site, but the images i did find for it are amazing.

But the main thing is the Dutch Navy livery, as there aren't many (free) models of Dutch aircraft out there.

Thanks, Nobi! (Even though i managed to enlarge the other one to 1/48...)

A dual build of the two is a possibility!

Nobi, Thanks very much. I had a good friend flying #272 at an airshow in 1976 and he got it into an inverted stall. No Joy.

I've always wanted to build a Sea Fury as a rememberance to him.
