Fokker E.III. (381/15) Turkish Air Service Summer 1916

Throwing my hat in the ring here. having done some work on my other build I can see I obviously need to work the kinks out of my fingers. This seems like a good way to do it!

I picked the brightest one as I will hang it in my cube at work most likely

Good choice. That's the one I built for the group build we did over on the old Z. These kits turn out really well.

yeah - I will see if I can dig those up. I will possibly even give the rigging a go even though never done it before.
Thanks!

I found that doing the main rigging on the E.III was best done as a single piece, gluing it in place at the top and bottom post. However, this may not be practical in a larger scale build.

Cool, another great opportunity to watch and learn. I am going to build one too, but I am waiting a little to watch y'all first.

I am going to used the improved engine for this plane found here:
this submersible sprouted from my rich imagination as I was scribbling a few lines on a piece of paper in a lost moment at work

please note there are two versions on here. I dont know the dif between long and short but if you print 100% centered it cuts off the very tippy top of the two parts closest to the top. I suppose I will be using the short version

Difference is that the short one is the one for use with the E.III. Look at the instructions, it's got a shorter back end so it doesn't protrude into the model (requiring a cut) or stick out too far. The long version would be more accurate if leaving out on display visible from behind. You can't see the backside very well when mounted in the model, and when you do, it should look "cut off" because the rest would be inside the fuselage.

I'll have to remember this is there for when I build one. :p

They were made of some kind of early aluminum alloy that had a very odd looking surface pattern. I am remembering now why I have never actually started to build one of these.

Fokker early metal surface effect
