3D paper

Their site has been under construction for some time, but today I found a few "live" pages.

I haven't been able to buy anything but I've sent an email - one of mnany over the years!

With a new site I hope that this time I'll be luck and a little poorer ;-)

Cheers
Mike

I think that Mike makes reference to

About

once the website of a Korean purveyor of fine paper models whose parts had perforated boundaries and embossed scoring lines.

But the site as it stands now looks a lot different from what it was once. A "whois" search reveals that it belongs to an outfit called "fastdomain," and has since 2001. Somehow it just doesn't look right to me. This site was once configured to sell paper models; now it looks like a business-to-business solicitation for the design of paper novelties.

Gee, at least it is something different this year. I keep hoping to get some more of the figures from Lineage II.

Geez. I wish someday I'll get good enough with modeling design. The big guys will have me do stuff for them too.

That's the one. I'd just sent a few pictures of their Elf and didn't think.

There are some good signs - they do mention some of their kits and even say they are for sale. The Elf is the fifth model of theirs I've made and would like to find more.

Cheers
Mike

I think 3dpaper was acquired, or evolved. I was just in Korea, and believe me, I looked for anything remotely resembling paper models. I found this:

????(?) [??]

These are "educational" models made of a thick, inflexible stock that looks like paper-faced cardboard or foam. Tab and slot construction with visible tabs poking out all over. But the parts are to be removed from pre-perforated ships (like 3dpaper), and the artwork and quality of the printing look like 3dpaper too. They also cover many of the same subjects (Korean historical and Lineage) but I didn't see any figures. The unbendable pieces don't lend themselves to figures.

I didn't buy any; they didn't appeal to me.
