I'll agree, that the subject matter is a little "icky"
but its really no different than all the other Science Models we have seen over the years.
And from that picture (boxtop maybe?) it is definitely presented in a
Scientific way, and not sensationalized or sillied up.

I'm more curious about what is on the included CD (or DVD?)?

It appears to state (on the left of the image):
"DNA Sound and Cancer Cell Music" !

I would not build that model, but then again, I downloaded it in the off chance that my son might for a science project. If I was in school I would have. Imagine some kid or researcher looking at the model and visualizing something no one ever thought of before. This kind of imagery definitely serves a purpose.

My mother is a certified nurse midwife, and she has this amazing set of little plastic characters of several of the nastier std viruses. She used to hand them to us kids to keep us quite in church.

Much to my mothers amusement, I washed my hands for days after I'd realized what those little characters represented. : )

What on earth possessed someone to manufacture a bunch of little plastic characters of stds?? Yikes!
