Highly detailed portable generator 1:25 - free!
There is no beating a dedicated Russian designer for producing a paper model of the outmoust, almost impossible, complexity. Here's another example:
At Kartonbau.de Russian modeler "Nikolai" is test-building his friend's, designer Sergey, new 1:25 model of the GAZ-66 truck (KShM R-142N variant). The building log is worth following in itself (Nikolai writes in English), since the design seems to be very, very complicated. However, in a post not too long ago Nikolai also offered, on the sly as it were, a free part of the upcoming model, namely a portable generator in the same 1:25 scale. The link for downloading this model is in the post at Kartonbau.de. In that post there's also some printing advice and explanations of symbols used, so I made a small pdf of that information. If you download the model, this information might be worth preserving together with it. Generator instr.pdf.zip This pdf (zipped) also contains all the links given here, for following the build, and for downloading the generator. Leif PS. My favourite build by Nikolai is the ZIS-5. If you are into trucks, you may also want to check out his build of the GAZ-69. Last edited by Leif Ohlsson; 02-05-2011 at 10:19 AM. |

That's the design skill level someday I would hope to reach.
