I think we have a good method here and it should stay...
find a site? wanna know more about it? post it here.
If it turns out to be a pirate site, we just let you know and remove the name (and links) from your post.

We don't need to broadcast these pirate sites or promote them any more in a list
(they are pretty easy to find anyway! LOL)

but its easy to deal with each request one by one.

In my opinion the method so far is the best way to deal with it.
I appreciate the fact that many people take the time to ask if a site is legitimate.

Do we have a post for spotting pirate sites?
You know...some Basic Rules to determine a pirate site?
Things like:

Probably 99% of PrePrinted Models are only available as Pre-Printed Models.
So a downloadable version is usually a pirate copy.

The big names in Card Modeling (eg Halinski, FLY, Maty Modelarz, etc) only produce PrePrinted models.

JPEG, Gif, Image file versions of Models are usually pirate copies.
Legitimate models are almost always PDF or PDO format.

If we don't already have this, maybe it would make a good thread idea?

Wouldn't having a list of sites be like having a list of banable words which we are not allowed to say on here?

... and yet there they are being said?

It's all folly. Besides, all the tools you need to rip off and break into protected pdf's are easily found on this forum. It's up to one's own moral compass. That's what that sound is, when it's real quiet, that sucking sound of those without a moral compass sucking up the whole Earth.

Makes sense to me if to send Rickstef or any of the Mods a P.M. (Private Message) first , they would tell you instantly whether it is legit, or if a model is legit or not. They have quite an extensive knowledge or this, as does Christ Gutzmer. Maybe it should be in bold letters, "RED BOLD LETTERS, "DON'T POST WEBSITES YOU THINK ARE QUESTIONABLEE, ASK A MODEATOR FIRST IN A P.M." , seems quite reasonable.

This is becoming, if it isn't already, one of the preeminent sites on paper modeling. Anything posted here will be "broadcast" over the net by the many people who do not belong to the forum but may glean the forum for information. People should take advantage of the knowledge own the forum Moderators. then act accordingly, that's one reason why they are here, isn't it?

It is done.
What about a thread for the purpose of compiling and posting a list of known good sites?

Would the links section (upper right tab) suffice? It's not just a list of sites since you can post the link along with comments on what you've found.

Shows how lost in your habits one can get. I always come here and click on the 'new posts' and I've long given up looking for new sites that are along my interests.
